Dr. Andreas Sapalidis is a researcher at the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of the National Centre for Scientific Research Demokritos, Greece.
He holds a bachelor in PetroleumEngineering from the Technological Institute of Kavala, Greece. In 2004 he obtained his Master of Science from the Department of chemistry in the field of polymer science of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and in 2009 a PhD from the same Department.
He is a member of Membranes and Materials for Environmental Separations Laboratory (MESL) for more than 20 years with his research interests being novel preparation and characterization techniques of nanostructured materials for environmental and energy applications.
Indicatively he focuses in preparation and characterization of nanocomposite structures, development of porous hybrid polymeric and inorganic membranes and novel sorbents for liquid and gas applications.
He is the co-author of 57 research papers and has more than 100 conference presentations.
He holds 3 international patents, and he was involved in the implementation of more than 15 national and European research projects.
