Yiannis Kontoulis

Dr. Yiannis Kontoulis, MBA, is president of the Hellenic Institute for the Fire Protection of Structures (ELIPYKA) and general manager of Knauf Insulation (Greece, Cyprus and Malta). Experienced in material technology and the insulation product sector, he has worked in industrial minerals, as well as in specialized products and ceramics in the industry and at Imperial College, London, where he also completed his PhD. He has served as president of the Greek Ceramic Society. He is member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Association of Insulation Companies (PSEM) and founding member of the Sustainability Building Council Greece (SBC Greece). He represents ELIPYKA in the Confederation of Fire Protection Associations Europe (CFPA-e).
